Privacy Policy
Praxity Studio is a local-first desktop application. This policy explains what stays on your Mac and what is transmitted only when you choose an online feature.
Who we are
Praxity Studio is operated by Ariel Harlap, an individual based in Quebec, Canada. We build eLearning authoring software for instructional designers and educators. Privacy questions may be sent to privacy@praxity.io.
Local desktop data
Core authoring, preview, and export work locally and do not require an account.
- Projects and assets: Your
.praxfiles, images, audio, fonts, and exported courses stay in locations you choose on your Mac. Praxity does not receive them through ordinary local use. - Settings: Preferences, recent project paths, and a locally generated telemetry identifier are stored in the operating system's application-data directory. API keys are stored using the operating system's secure credential storage where available.
Learner progress inside an exported SCORM course is handled by the author's learning management system, not by Praxity Studio. Questions about a deployed course should be sent to the organization that provided it.
Optional telemetry
Usage telemetry and crash reporting are off by default and controlled separately in Studio's Privacy settings. When either is enabled, Studio creates a random identifier and sends only the selected category to PostHog's EU service.
- Usage telemetry: App and platform versions, counts and types of blocks, export format and result, feature use, and settings changed. It does not include course text, media, file paths, names, or email addresses.
- Crash reports: Error type, a sanitized error message, app context, and a short in-memory sequence of recent product events used to diagnose the failure. Raw file paths and course contents are not intentionally included.
You may turn either option off at any time from Studio's Privacy settings.
Updates
Automatic updates are on by default and may contact Praxity's GitHub release service to check for and download a new version. You may turn automatic updates off. As with any web request, the service provider may receive technical data such as your IP address, app version, and request time.
Optional review sharing
Share for review uploads the review build you select, including its course content and assets, to Cloudflare R2. Praxity also stores the share title, random link identifier, and expiry in Cloudflare KV. Reviewers may submit a name, page identifier, comment, and timestamp.
Review links expire after the period selected by the author, from 1 to 60 days. Uploaded files are configured for deletion within 60 days. Share metadata and comments may remain after expiry until Praxity deletes them. A one-way hash of a reviewer's IP address is kept for about two minutes to provide basic comment rate limiting.
Anyone with an active review link may be able to view its content and comments. Authors should share links only with intended reviewers and avoid unnecessary personal or confidential data.
Website, waitlist, and support
When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, language, signup source, and selected audience category. We use these details to send the requested messages and store them with Resend and Praxity's contacts service until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
If you make a voluntary supporter contribution, Stripe processes payment and billing details. Praxity does not store complete card numbers. If you contact us, we retain your message and contact details as needed to respond and maintain appropriate business records.

Cookies
Praxity does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. The desktop telemetry described above does not use browser cookies. Infrastructure providers may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technical data to secure and deliver the website or review-sharing service.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- know whether Praxity holds personal information about you and access it;
- correct inaccurate information;
- withdraw consent where processing depends on consent;
- object to or restrict certain processing; and
- request deletion or portability where applicable.
To make a request, email privacy@praxity.io. We may need enough information to verify your identity and locate the relevant record. Praxity cannot access or delete project files stored only on your Mac or learner records controlled by an LMS.
We don't sell data
Praxity does not sell or rent personal information or share it with third parties for their own advertising.
Children
Praxity Studio's authoring tool and review-sharing service are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to Praxity, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate. Organizations deploying exported courses are responsible for their own learner privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change. For a material change, we will provide reasonable notice through the website, the application, or an available contact channel.
